Dating in the dark after the show of intimidating people
I was genuinely interested in the show from the scientific perspective. "It just kind of sucked because people were judging me on things I had done five years ago. When you have started to turn your life around and recover from a troubled past, to have that paraded around like it is your current reality, it is very difficult to change people's opinions. If you've only read about me and don't like me, I don't think that's terribly fair. You don't really know me whether you like me."Do you think the fact that you were a burlesque dancer made the media treat you in an unfair fashion? I think it was the stuff that happened five years ago when I was younger, stupider and going through a crap time. Everyone has a past, but unfortunately mine has become public knowledge. And I know people laugh at that, but burlesque performers apart from Dita Van Teese never become famous. Let's not forget here who was the one who kiss and told first.I wanted the guys to get to know me and get to know them. You don't want the lights to come on and find out that you've been kissing a minger!"You've quit the Satanic Sluts, so what are you up to at the moment?Even the episode's ending is somewhat anti-climactic (paging rejected guy: Give me a call; that gal was crazy). That said, the show is best seen as an excellent infomercial for a new dating service. As the pilot proves, nothing's foolproof in the pursuit of happiness, but sometimes turning out the lights helps people see that much more clearly.
That's the sentiment after watching the pilot episode of ABC's latest attempt to pair up young, straight, white folks in "Dating in the Dark."Proposing to answer the question, is love blind?
"I've been in a band called Maria Maria for over a year now.
We've been recording and rehearsing and I've been working on my songs and putting all my energy into that. It's kind of like The Bangles or a softer version of Garbage.
It's like a soft girl rock group with a boy drummer."Do you not fear people will criticise you for hunting more publicity by appearing on ?
"This was a cool idea and a really different opportunity. I am only going to do something if I want to do it. It's about whether I want to do something or not."Looking back the Russell and Jonathan incident, what are your feelings about it now?I wanted to know if the Dark Room was as dark as it looks. It gave me the chance to give guys the time of day who I wouldn't normally."How flirty were you with the guys on the show? I don't think that's the best way to get to know someone.
